
New Digital Renewal Process Implemented for 2026 Renewals
This digital process has been partially implemented, allowing commissioned inspectors to access their digital wallet pass (DWP) on their NBBI Business Center accounts by installing the digital NBBI Credential on their mobile devices. Full implementation will occur during the 2026 Commission Renewal cycle.

Digital Wallet Pass: Inspectors will access their digital NBBI Credential via the DWP downloaded to their mobile device(s) through their online account by selecting the "View/Edit My Profile" tab.
Physical Card Issuance: For the 2026 renewal cycle, which ends December 31, 2025, commissioned inspectors will receive a physical card for the last time.
Post-2026: The physical card will only be issued to those with new commissions, those who change employers, and for reinstatements. Expect more updates on this new process in the future.
The 2026 Commission Renewal Timeline - Now in Effect
Commission Renewal Timeline:
- October 1, 2025: Commissioned inspectors should have received an initial email notification to prepare for the renewal cycle and to remind them to complete the required continuing education (CE).
- October 15, 2025: A second email marked the official start of the renewal period.
- December 1, 2025: Inspectors will receive a reminder email to complete their CE and renew their commission.
- December 31, 2025: The 2026 Commission Renewal window will close.
