89th GENERAL MEETING KEYNOTE SPEAKER ANNOUNCED
Cliff Clavin, the bar “know-it-all” from Cheers.
Hamm the piggy bank from Toy Story.
Lovable tractor-trailer Mack from Cars.
These are just a few of the dozens of memorable characters this very special guest has played throughout his 30-plus year acting career.
The National Board is extremely excited to announce John Ratzenberger will deliver the keynote address at the 89th National Board/ASME General Meeting on Monday, May 11, 2020, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado.
John has enjoyed success as a screenwriter, director, producer, and Emmy-nominated actor. He is the only actor to voice a character in every Pixar film, and is known by Pixar’s creators as their “good luck charm.” But he is also a successful and accomplished entrepreneur, philanthropist, and American trades and manufacturing advocate.
Since climbing off the barstool at Cheers over 20 years ago, John has immersed himself in what makes America great. He produced and starred in the Travel Channel series, John Ratzenberger’s Made in America, and is Hollywood’s most outspoken advocate for American manufacturing and skilled labor. He has addressed legislators on both sides of the aisle and spoken to groups across the country about eliminating the stigma around the trades, while providing much-needed training opportunities for students, returning veterans, and out-of-work Americans.
John’s drive to promote American ingenuity led to the creation of American Made Advertising, a full-service advertising firm dedicated to helping American businesses and organizations sell their products and services. He is also developer and founder of ECOPACK, a biodegradable shipping material that replaces Styrofoam and is now used worldwide, most often seen as the shredded accordion paper used in gift bags.
