Michael Pischke Announced as General Session Speaker

 

The National Board announces Michael Pischke, Director, Quality Assurance with GE Power Services, will address the 86th General Meeting May 8, 2017, in Anchorage, Alaska. His presentation is entitled, “Historic Introduction of Plate Heat Exchanger Rules into ASME and National Board Codes.”

Michael Pischke began his career in the pressure equipment industry 38 years ago as a pressure vessel welder. Ten years into the profession, he entered college to pursue his bachelor of science in metallurgical engineering, and later a master of science in material science.

For the past 21 years, he has worked in quality management positions for Alfa Laval and GE Power.  In these positions he has been responsible for quality and welding programs in compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections I, VIII, IX and the National Board Inspection Code.

Mr. Pischke currently serves on ASME Code Sections VIII and IX, the QAI-1 Standards Committees, and on the Tennessee Board of Boiler Rules.  He served as Chair of the Task Group on Plate Heat Exchangers and is the Technical Project Manager for the incorporation for the Mandatory Appendix on Plate Heat Exchangers into ASME Code Section VIII, Division 1.
