Ron Kent Announced as General Meeting Speaker
Ron Kent of KB Inspection Services will be joining the panel of guest speakers at the 82nd National Board/ASME General Meeting May 13, in Miami, Florida. His topic: Manual Weld Examination Using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT).
Mr. Kent has more than 25 years of experience in the military and civilian field of material testing using nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. He has considerable experience with a wide range of industry sectors, including but not limited to: aerospace, Department of Defense (DoD) equipment, fossil power systems, and chemical/industrial/manufacturing equipment. Mr. Kent is qualified and certified as an ASNT Level III inspector in the penetrant (PT), ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MT), radiological (RT), and eddy current (ET) testing methods.
His background includes working within various technical groups, such as the U.S. Air Force Nondestructive Program (Office & Depot Level NDI), Alion Science & Technology (materials engineering group), GE Energy’s inspection services team, Columbia Analytical Services chemical laboratory network, and KB Inspection Services.
In 2008, Mr. Kent founded KB Inspection Services and serves as president, operating four field service NDT offices within the United States. Projects include research and development, NDT engineering, design and application of NDT tools and fixtures, weld quality, mechanical integrity testing, and product quality (life extension or sustainment efforts).
