Melfi to Discuss What’s New in Weld Metal Additive Manufacturing
The National Board is excited to welcome Teresa Melfi as a General Session speaker at the 91st General Meeting on Monday, May 15. Her presentation will explore the use of weld metal as a substitute for large forgings, castings, and assemblies. Use cases will include parts that have been put into critical service conditions, including pressure retaining and high temperature applications. Timelines and standards acceptance will be discussed, with emphasis on the benefits to owners, repair organizations and insurers.
Teresa Melfi is a Technical Fellow at The Lincoln Electric Company. Ms. Melfi is a member of the National Board’s Advisory Committee, representing the welding industry. She has nearly 40 years of experience, with roles in operations, research and development, and international engineering. An active member of the global welding community, Melfi holds more than 50 US and international welding-related patents.
