A. Thomas Roberts Announced as General Session Speaker
 
The National Board announces A. Thomas Roberts, executive engineer consultant and project manager with MPR associates, will address the 84th General Meeting April 27, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His presentation is entitled, Making ASME Codes and Standards Smaller: Small Modular Reactors and Their Needs for Future ASME Codes.
 
Mr. Roberts has over 39 years’ experience in the nuclear power industry, including nuclear plant construction, plant operations, and a wide span of engineering management responsibilities. He is the current secretary of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section XI, Special Working Group Reliability Integrity Management (RIM) – ASME XI, Division 2, and has participated in dozens of other industry codes and standards committees throughout his career. His article, “An Overview of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs): Diverse Technology for Tomorrow’s Energy” is featured in the current issue of the BULLETIN.
