Michigan Chief Vallance Announces Retirement
Michigan Boiler Division Chief William Vallance retired on September 27. Mr. Vallance served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS England CG/DLG-22. In 1978, he went to work for Hartford Steam Boiler and then joined Baker Perkins as a quality engineer for ASME in 1981. He joined the State of Michigan in 1987 as a deputy boiler inspector and progressed to senior deputy boiler inspector in 1999. In 2001, he became assistant chief inspector and was promoted to chief in 2010.
