Frequently Asked Questions: Training Courses and Seminars
The National Board Training department receives numerous inquiries regarding its training programs. The following is a review of frequently asked questions and answers.
Q: What is the payment policy?
A: National Board Training department has two payment options:
Payment via Credit Card
The National Board accepts American Express, MasterCard, and Visa for credit card payment. For security reasons, we do not accept credit card payments via email. If you prefer to pay via credit card, please use the online registration form or contact the National Board Accounting Department at telephone at 614.888.8320, ext. 217, or fax to 614, 888.0750.
Payment via Check
Students wishing to pay by check cannot register for training online but must contact Katie Severe for registration information at ksevere@nationalboard.org or by calling 614.431.3216. Students paying by check will not be guaranteed a seat in the requested class until payment is received. If payment is not received at least 30 days prior to the start of class or received after a class date becomes full, students will automatically be rescheduled to the next available class date, as class size is limited.
Q: What is your confirmation process?
A: Students will receive two emails when registering for National Board training: (1) a registration acknowledgement email upon receipt of registration by the training department, and (2) a confirmation email six weeks prior to the start of class. If you have not received a confirmation email please contact the National Board to confirm enrollment. Note: Please be sure to have class confirmation before making travel arrangements.
Q: What if I can’t attend a course after I have enrolled?
A: Cancellation notices must be received 30 days prior to the start of class to ensure a full refund. Cancellations received after this date – and up to the first day of class – will be subject to a $100 service charge. Substitution of attendees may be made at any time up until the start of the first day. Please note: Students not notifying the National Board of a cancellation by the first day of class will be charged full tuition.
Q: Can anyone attend National Board courses and seminars?
A: Anyone can attend National Board classes, but in order to receive a commission/endorsement, attendees must be employed by an authorized inspection agency (AIA) or jurisdiction. Please reference
NB-263 to see all requirements.
Q: What does it mean when the class is marked "CLOSED"?
A: "CLOSED" means the class is full, but people can opt to be added to a wait list. Simply contact Katie Severe at
ksevere@nationalboard.org.
Q: Do I need to bring any additional materials or code books?
A: Yes. Registrants are required to bring certain materials. The
