Joseph Ball, Gary Scribner to Address NBBI 89th General Meeting on the NBIC, PRD Test Lab
Joseph Ball, Director of the National Board Pressure Relief Department and Gary Scribner, National Board Assistant Director – Technical will close the technical sessions portion of 89th General Meeting Monday, May 10, at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona. Their presentation is entitled Celebrating NBBI Milestones: The NBIC and PRD Test Lab.
Mr. Ball is a 40-year employee of the National Board, responsible for pressure relief device new construction and repair certification programs, and test lab operations. He is also responsible for conducting shop reviews of valve and rupture disk manufacturers, assemblers, repair organizations, and test laboratories, and is an ASME Authorized Observer for the National Board Testing Laboratory.
Ball is a professional engineer in the state of Ohio and is a National Board instructor. He is a member of the ASME Section XI and the General Requirements Subgroup and Working Group. He chairs the ASME Section III Working Group on Pressure Relief and is a member of the ASME Section XIII Committee on Overpressure Protection and the Subgroup on Component Design.
Mr. Scribner received much of his boiler training during his 22 ½ years of service in the US Navy. Prior to joining the National Board in 2014, Mr. Scribner was Deputy Director for Missouri for seven years.
Scribner became a National Board member in 2007 and was elected to the National Board’s Board of Trustees in 2009, where he served as second vice chair. He continues to advocate for National Board safety programs.
