Dallas, Texas, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, Sites of Future General Meetings

The National Board is excited to announce the 87th General Meeting in May of 2018 will be hosted at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas; and the 88th General Meeting in May 2019 will be hosted at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Hilton Anatole

With 1,606 guest rooms and more than 500,000 square feet of flexible event space (including 11 ballrooms and 79 meeting rooms), the Hilton Anatole is an ideal host hotel for the 87th General Meeting. Add to that the Anatole’s contemporary, Asian-themed lobby featuring serene reflecting ponds and ample gathering spaces; it’s valuable 1,000-piece exclusive art collection displayed throughout the hotel; and a brand new upscale, resort-style pool complex (to be completed this summer); guests of the 87th General Meeting will conduct business in the ultra-chic atmosphere of this Dallas hub.

The Anatole is located only 10 minutes from Dallas Love Field and 20 minutes from Dallas-Fort Worth International airport. Five dining venues are on the property, including SER Steak & Spirits on the 27th floor, where stunning views of downtown Dallas are paired with fine dining.

Other amenities include Verandah Health Club, an 80,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center complete with an indoor lap pool and home to the hotel’s spa, the V Spa. Nearby attractions include Dallas Design District, Dallas Cowboy Stadium, George W. Bush Library, JFK Memorial, and the Dallas Zoo.

Hilton Caribe

A few minor details distinguish the 88th General Meeting in May of 2019 from all others: First, 2019 marks the historic 100th anniversary of the National Board. Second, this centennial event will be celebrated in conjunction with the General Meeting at none other than the iconic Caribbean hotel, the Hilton Caribe, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Also notable is that this will mark the first time a General Meeting has been conducted in a US Territory. One more detail: the Hilton Caribe happens to be the birthplace of the Pina Colada….

Celebrations and cocktail garnishes aside, the Hilton Caribe is serious about hosting business meetings. The hotel features 651 guest rooms, 65,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor event space, 24 meeting rooms, 11 conference rooms, two ballrooms, and one of Puerto Rico’s largest exhibition halls. The hotel also features unique pre-function spaces such as ballroom foyers, patios, and balconies for networking functions and breakout sessions.

Within 15 minutes of landing at the Luis Munoz Martin International Airport, guests will arrive at the hotel, which was built on a 17-acre secluded peninsula between historic Old San Juan and the contemporary neighborhood of Condado. Exclusive shops, museums, and restaurants are within walking distance at the new Paseo Caribe center.

Other hotel amenities include a secluded beach, eight restaurants and bars, an onsite business center, oceanfront pool complex with a swim up bar, tennis courts, spa, fitness center, game room, and a bird sanctuary. No passport is required for US citizens traveling to Puerto Rico, but non-US citizens will need a valid passport for entry.

Attendees of the National Board/ASME General Meetings have four dynamic destinations to look forward to: Orlando (2016), Anchorage (2017), Dallas (2018), and San Juan (2019).
