New Alberta Member Announced
Mike Poehlmann was accepted to National Board membership on September 16. He represents the province of Alberta.
Mr. Poehlmann began his career in 1976 in the pipe trades union before becoming a process operator in a chemical plant. He then attended St. Lawrence College and studied stationary engineering. From 1986 to 1988 he was an inspector with the Northwest Territories, and from 1992 to 1996 he was an inspector with the Province of Saskatchewan.
In 1996, he joined the Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA) where he served in a variety of positions, including shop inspector, inspection supervisor, manager of education and certification, manager of inspection (10 years), and acting general manager and technical director before assuming the role of chief inspector and administrator.
