National Board Announces New Members
Milwaukee Chief Boiler Inspector Jillian Klug has been accepted to National Board membership. Ms. Klug earned a bachelor’s of science in mechanical engineering from Marquette University. She began her professional career in 1999 working at We Energies/Wisconsin Electric Power Company as a fossil operations power plant engineer with the steam generation system and later as the fossil operations welding engineer. In 2007, she transitioned to Cleaver Brooks and held positions as an industrial watertube aftermarket product engineer and aftermarket applications specialist/technical specialist. She joined the city of Milwaukee as a boiler inspector in 2012 before assuming the role of chief.
Massachusetts Chief of Inspections Edward Kawa Jr. has been accepted to National Board membership. Mr. Kawa earned a certificate of steam engineering from the Peterson School of Engineering and Steam Engineering Institute. From 1985 through 2005, he worked at the Merrimac Paper Company and served as a watch engineer, chief steam engineer, and corporate energy engineer. In 2005, he joined with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and served as a district engineering inspector and manager of engineering inspectors until assuming the role of chief of inspections. From 2011 through July 2014, he worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a risk engineering specialist. Mr. Kawa recently returned to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts assuming the role of chief of inspections for the Department of Public Safety.
