Robert “Buddy” Dobbins Announced as General Meeting Presenter
The National Board announces Robert “Buddy” Dobbins will address the 82nd General Meeting in Miami, Florida, on May 13 with a presentation entitled, BIOGAS: The Hidden Costs of Going Green.
Mr. Dobbins is employed by Zurich Services Corporation as a specialist in the area of machinery breakdown risk assessments. He is the technical director of machinery breakdown and team leader of Zurich's Global Technical Centre. During his 25 years of loss prevention experience in the insurance industry, Mr. Dobbins has gained extensive consultative experience in the fabrication, operation, inspection, and maintenance of machinery and equipment currently used for power generation across many industries.
Mr. Dobbins’ areas of specialized expertise include: the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code in the design, construction, and installation of high- and low-pressure boilers and unfired and fired pressure vessels; the National Board Inspection Code for the operation, repair, and inspection of high- and low-pressure boilers and unfired and fired pressure vessels; and risk and claim assessments of most engineering lines written by large property and casualty insurance companies.
Mr. Dobbins is a commissioned boiler inspector and holds A and B endorsements issued by the National Board. He is commissioned in several states. He is a sitting member on three National Board Inspection Code committees, and is a sitting member on the NFPA 85 Committee. He received an ASC in engineering technology and a BSC in liberal arts from the University of the State of New York.
