The National Board Remembers Dr. Domenic Canonico

The National Board is sad to announce Dr. Domenic Canonico passed away at his home on December 28, 2018. Dr. Canonico was a longtime friend of the National Board and a dedicated professional in the boiler and pressure vessel industry.

Dr. Canonico was an expert in metallurgical engineering. He served as a member of the National Board Inspection Code Main Committee for nearly 20 years and was chairman of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Main Committee for nine years. In 2012, Dr. Canonico was awarded the National Board Safety Medal for his outstanding contributions to the industry.

“Domenic was a solid character and friend to many. He was a true leader and set a good example for all of us to follow,” says National Board Executive Director David Douin. “Our industry was very fortunate to have him for so many years.”
