Former Alaska Chief Passes Away

 

Former Alaska Chief Chris Fulton passed away on October 2, 2018. Mr. Fulton served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971, as an NDE Specialist in the United States and in Germany. His civilian career began in 1972, building electric boilers with Cam Industries in Kent, Washington. In 1973, Mr. Fulton moved to Palmdale, California, where he worked as a plant electrician for Lockheed. Mr. Fulton accepted a federal job at the Puget Sound Shipyard as a boilermaker in 1974. He worked in boiler operations at the Bangor submarine base in Silverdale, Washington, from 1978 to 1981.

Mr. Fulton became a commissioned inspector in 1981. From 1981 to 2007, Mr. Fulton worked for Royal Insurance, Kemper Insurance, Factory Mutual Insurance, and the states of Alaska and Nevada. Mr. Fulton served as Alaska’s chief boiler inspector for seven years before retiring on August 31, 2015.
